Hi.
Just upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.5.2. Now I notice that all MasterQ settings are reset to zero. How do I bring back those EQ settings? I'm using Cubase 4. I tried to save the preset of 1.0.2 and load it into the 1.5.2, but no luck.

found out 1.5 is only compatible back to 1.4. So much for keeping old projects laying around. I know this subject has been beaten to death in the VW forum, so I'll just leave it there ...

It is a first report on backward compatibility problems with MQ. Could you give us more details on your system version, CPU etc? Did you swirch to a different machine during update?

It says (about MasterQ 1.5.0):
"This version is backward-compatible down to version 1.4."

Oops, I am sorry, I forgot that we had the version 1.4. I rather thought about MC where the 1.5 appears right after 1.0.
I am sorry for the imcomatibility but the serious difference between 1.0 and 1.4 made it virtually impossible to provide compatibility at that time.
We are making our best to reduce incompatibility possibilities in the future.

When you skip backward compatibility, atleast register the new version with a *new* name in the host. Then we can have both versions of the plugin available in the host.

Fortunatly, this skipping of backward compatibility isn't common (among other software developers). Imaging opening an old project and not being able to know if the plugins did load properly...

The difference between MC 1.0 and MC 1.4 as well as VW 1.5 and VW 1.6.5 as a long ago story so we shouldn't discuss it as a current problem, should we? The serious change we had to make at this time was unavoidable and we hope not to be forced for such extreme changes in the future.

Nowadays MC 1.5 and VWLE are designed to open properly projects containing MC 1.4 and VW 1.6.5.

I just bumped into the same problem, though or maybe because it is an old topic. The incompatibility between the 1.0 and 1.5 versions makes it impossible to upgrade because MQ is one of my favourite EQs which is used many times in every project I work on. I also have to be able to open older projects without a hassle (like reinstalling an old version of MQ first...) What can I do to be able to update? Is it a huge effort to change the vst-registration so that I can use both versions?

Michael
