Are you planning to add a pre-delay to Easy verb?

We don't plan a pre delay in the PSP EasyVerb in the near future. We advice to use any of simple delay plug-ins before the EasyVerb in the chain to produce simple or even complex pre delay and delay patterns.

Not sure, if I'm being clear.

I want the reverb to come in a bit late, so vocals can be heard clearly.

Instead of sending the result of the reverb to the main out, you send it through a delay unit (it makes no different it the delay is before of after the reverb). The result will be perceived as if the reverb unit has a predelay dialed in.

Another technique I use is to route the reverb sends of my channels to different group channels with different delays plugins on it. Then you route these group channels to the reverb plugin.

Using this setup, you can have different predelay using a single reverb unit.

Yes Rune,
You described exactly what I meant. This gives a very high flexibility and also allow to combine a reverb with multi tap or other delay based effects for various advanced space effects extremally usefull on some tracks (leading guitar, vocal etc).
You are right that in that cases the delay can be before or after the reverb but I would use a delay as first just for logical reasons. The only case when this makes a difference is when you use modulated delays (choruses, flangers and others).

If you don't look for any speciall effects you can try some free like Karletta, MDA or any built in plug-in of that kind. The simpler the better for simple pre delay.

Still, a pre-delay is essential to a reverb/delay plug-in, IMHO.

Thanks for your votes. I will keep it in my mind!
My idea is to keep simplicity of the EasyVerb's control and not provide a crap pre delay section.

Who would want a crap pre-delay

Adding a pre-delay does make it more simple, because then I don't have to use another VST plug-in.

I'm using Easy-verb over others becuase it is well Easy, but for vocals I'm leaning towards others, which is a pain, btw.... ;\)

And a pre-delay would make it a stupendous, magnificent, excellent plug-in :-)

I fully agree. Please incorporate a pre-delay in future revisions of EasyVerb. I don't think this feature would overly complicate this plugin at all. It would then allow you to use it as an insert effect, but with more control over when the reverberation actually occurs.

The pre delay feature will be present in the next big PSP EasyVerb update.

The biggest problem was how to include a new feature into existing GUI. I hope you will like our solution :-)

Thanks.

We are working on major update of most of our plug-ins. Changes will include several modificatins required by customers and also some important featured required by other then VST formats. Those changes are planned to make all versions more unified and more compatible to various hosts.
We plan that the new EasyVerb will come as one of first next to the VintageWarmer.
