I hope this isn't beating a dead horse.

I love the MasterQ. L-O-V-E. It sounds brilliant. I did some tests last night to see how many I could run on Cubase SX 2.2 with my Dual 1 Ghz G4. I enabled 3 bands on each EQ instance.

2 Stereo EQs with FAT enabled
14 Stereo EQs without FAT enabled
5 Mono EQs with FAT enabled
22 Mono EQs without FAT enabled

I know this was intended as a master EQ, but I would like to use it primarily as a channel Eq because it sounds so much better than anything else I've heard. I certainly like the sound better in FAT mode and if there is any way you guys could optimize the plugin so it can run more instances, I would be forever grateful. Any plans?

I also hope it will be possible for PSP to optimize MasterQ. In the meantime, get SX3, the improved plugin Freeze is really useful.

Hi,

Actually optimizing it is almost impossible because of its 64 bit floating point operations. AltiVec engine only supports 32 bit floats.

Please note that the amount of plug-ins used could be increased by turning the right channel of whenever the MasterQ is used on single channel tracks.

Thanks Mateusz, I had not thought about turning off the right channel before.

i use mainly the filters of PSP MasterQ v1.0.2 (no Fat)
with

http://www.vb-audio.com/
http://vincent.burel.free.fr/download/ffx4_FullDemo3.zip

PSP MasterQ v1.5.2 its a bit more CPU efficient
than v1.0.2,
i can insert 32x vb_ffx4 racks with 4x PSP MasterQ each VST wrapped to DX (no fat) = 96 PSP MasterQ
44.1khz 24-bit

the v1.0.2 eats from 48% to 60%,
the DX vs. VST wrapped = same or unnoticeable
diference

the v1.5.2 eats from 44% to 55%
in task manager

in host software metter measures 50% aprox. and 70%
aprox.

the middle 3-bands only no FAT v1.0.2 it does 40% to 45% with the 96x stereo PSP MasterQ DX

the latest version isnt always the best
i learned that with NVIDIA drivers
static latency does not work for me (i need as low
latency as posible)

PC:
Antec superlanboy case,
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz not Over.Clock,
Asus P5W DH Deluxe Bios 2004,
512mb Kinston 667 ram single channel,
thermaltake bigtyphoon + antec tri cool 120mm DBB +
antec silver5 thermal paste
E-mu 1010pci + 1820m audiodock at 10ms Asio Latency
WinXP SP2
eVGA 6200 LE TC drivers 84.

testing the v1.2.2 i think its the worse version

Hello,

If anyone want to test an RTAS or AU version of MasterQ with intel or ppc please email at support@pspaudioware.com and ask for a testing version.
This will not change much but will help us to get sersious information about current development version of various machines

Regards,
