Heya!

My first post here. I had no clue this forum existed until today! Woohoo ;\)

Anyway.... I'm using a Glide module which feeds back to itself to create a traditional feedback delay line. The problem is, even when I have mode set to rhythm, and the delay time set to, say, 16ths, the feedback line seems to drift out of time. ie. its not feeding back at perfect 16th.

I have Global tempo sync enabled, so that's not it.

Does the feedback path produce a small 'processing' delay which perhaps spoils the sync or is it something else?

cheers,
Rozzer \:\)

i think that's how it's supposed to be. it's nice not being so rigid and uniform. the delays kind of smear around. you can use milisecond mode and get the delay to feedback a little better if that's what you're after. hope this helps. enjoy!

Hi,

How significant is the drift you experience? I have never experienced such problems. The delay matrix will delay the feedback path by one additional sample, but this should not be audible unless you wait for really long time. Are you sure the plug-in receives the host tempo information (if the global tempo sync is on, the tempo value should be exactly the one that you set in your host).

Hi Hubert,

OK, here is an audio test:

The 1st file is a 4/4 kick drum pattern, with Ohmboyz delay set to 1/4 note delay. You will hear perfect sync.

http://www.rozzer.net/mp3/delay_test_ohm.mp3

The 2nd file is the same kick drum pattern, but with Nitro instead. A one Op patch, with Glide delay feeding back on itself. Mode=Rythm, Time L/R=1/16 (16th bar should be equeal to ohmboys 1/4 note) and global tempo sync is ON (reported tempo is the same as host tempo).

http://www.rozzer.net/mp3/delay_test_nitro.mp3

As you can hear Nitro is definately NOT in sync

aaron - I doubt that its supposed to be like that. What is the point in having a sync option if it doesn't sync? ;\)

Could you send me the preset file please? Are you sure the GLIDE time is not modulated?

there are no modulations in the patch.

Here's the patch:
