How do I get a "default" preset?

How do I get a "default" preset? - 07/19/11 02:55 PM

This might be kind of obvious, but how the hell do I get a preset to default? I want to start programming my own effects from scratch, but I haven't found a way to do that. The lack of a manual really doesn't help here....

The gain operator with the attenuation parameter set to 0.00db is essentially a bypass. If you set all 4 modules up in this manner, the plug is, for all practical purposes, bypassed and can safely serve as a default preset. You can then begin to program each module. For example, if you are tweaking a delay in the first module, the other modules will not color or alter it at all.

It is possible to achieve this result by tweaking the matrix. For example, let's say you want to program module 2 independently, but you don't want to set module 1 to the default because you have it just the way you want it. You can use the matrix to route the signal around module 1, through module 2, and then to the output.

If you haven't done so already, I would recommend watching the video for using the Matrix that PSP has on its You Tube page.

I am not fond of the lack of a pdf manual. I am hoping that PSP will recognize that a pdf manual is important and will create one.

Thanks for your reply, saw it just now. I stopped visiting the forum as it makes the Mojave desert seem like downtown New York by comparison...
It's a serviceable workaround, but something like a default button (or even, dare I say it, save/load) for every single module and/or the entire setup would be a lot more helpful. I really like N2O, but the workflow, especially compared to, say, Turnado, is very clunky and needlessly irritating.

Also, check out the last post in this thread, it may help you create a default preset.
