classic release on mastercomp? - 01/06/12 02:49 PM

Hello,

Can someone explain what the classic button on the release of the mastercomp does?

I can't find an explanation in the manual.

Thanks!

I also want to know it.
I expect update of the manual.

The classic release slows down the fall phase at its end so the compression is less jumpy on transients and doesn't exaggerate low levels too much.

Thank you.
I experimented based on your description.
pspmastercomp classic release
I noticed first, the Release time (the time until GR meter returns to 0 ) became long when the Classic button was turned ON.
In the case of this material, "Release Time 7500 second in Classic OFF" is about the same as "Release Time 450 second in Classic ON".

However, there is a difference in these two. It is how to move GR meter, or it is the acceleration of GR meter.

In the video, "GR meter of Classic OFF" is accelerating.
However, this is due to the appearance of the meter.
In fact, "GR Meter of Classic ON" is slowing down.

Is my recognition a correct answer?

The lower the GR is the longer the release time is in the classic mode.

Thank you for the intelligible explanation.
I could understand perfectly.
I will utilize this button and do a better mixing.
